NVFC Member Spotlight: Steven Lowry Steven Lowry has served the fire service for more than 50 years! Now assistant chief of the Renfroe Volunteer Fire Department in Alpine, AL, he still runs the most calls in his department at age 69, responding to more than 375 calls last year. Passionate about mentoring younger firefighters and staying active in training, Lowry continues to give back to his community through volunteer service.
